About
PTO Calculator Hub provides free calculators and reference material for common paid time off questions: how much PTO you accrue per pay period, what your unused hours are worth in dollars, how to convert between hours and days, and how holiday pay rates work.
PTO policies are often confusing. Accrual caps, payout rules, and state laws vary widely. This site exists to make that information accessible without requiring a call to HR or a payroll specialist.
What this site includes
- Free calculators: PTO accrual, payout value, vacation tracking, hours-to-days conversion, and holiday pay
- Educational guides: In-depth articles explaining how PTO is calculated, state payout laws, tax implications, and best practices
- 100% privacy: All calculations run in your browser. We never store, transmit, or share your salary, hours, or personal information
Where the data comes from
Every calculator on this site is built on established payroll formulas used by HR departments and payroll providers. Our calculation logic is based on:
- Standard accrual formulas recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
- IRS supplemental wage withholding guidelines (Publication 15)
- State-specific labor codes and department of labor regulations
- Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data on average leave benefits
We regularly review our calculations against updates to federal and state labor laws. When laws change (as sick leave mandates frequently do), we update our tools and content accordingly.
